All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I recently got saved by the Grace of Jesus Christ about two weeks ago. I have a three year old daughter whom I've begun trying to teach her basic prayers so that she too can pray to God. Well tonight was the first night that I was going to actually have her get on her knees and pray to the Lord. When I asked her to say the prayer she said that she can't. Now, when she said this a look of fear came over her face. I tried to reason with her to pray to God, but she said she couldn't because it would make the "scary" mad. I didn't know what she was talking about so I asked her who was the "scary". She said it was black spiders that come out of her ceiling fan and try to get her. Now mind you my child does not watch scary movies or anything inappropriate. She said that she just wants to go to bed and she doesn't want to pray to Jesus. So I prayed for her in the name of Jesus Christ but as a new Christian, I don't know what to do about this situation. What should I do? Are there any scriptures I can read to her to protect her from whatever is bothering her? Any advice would be soooo helpful! Thank you so much and God Bless!

PHILIPPIANS 4:6-7

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Your daughter is still young and in faith you are also. Let your daughter see the best example of how to pray and how to conduct yourself properly, and in time she will imitate your every actions... Never cease in praying and reading His words. Christian growth in faith should be humbly process gradually in the Potters hand. God bless

Hey beloved sis,

Great question. Read Psalm 23 and 91 to her at bed time. God willing, i will share a bit more later about this issue.

Blessings

Thank you so much for responding! I will do that from now on. Thanks!

Hi Ruby,

You guys will get through this, hang in there and keep praying.... One of the first bible verses i taught my children young is this.  Have your daughter memorize it.

1Jo 4:18

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear [fn]involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.

We will be praying with and for you. I would reach out to some older Christians and talk w/ them.  Maybe have them comes over and share the Word w/ you and your children. and also pray with you guys. The other post are all good scripitures. You are not alone.

In the Love of the Lord

The lord is really happy with you for you have really choosen to be part of the Kingdom his dear son Jesus Christ...Bible says the spirit teachs of all thinsg  and i want to believe  that you have now been birthed and there for you need the sincere milk of the word which is the bible and also be praying very often so that   you will be growing from faith to faith.

Rebuke Satan on your daughter's behalf in the Name of Jesus. Pray for your daughter to have peace during her sleep. My daughter puts a Bible under the pillow of the child and that gives them peace.

Blessings,

Rita

I serve an AMAZING God! This morning my daughter woke up, came into my room, dropped to her knees, put her hands together, bowed her head, and said "Dear Jesus, thank you!" I was soooooo amazed at just that. God answered my prayers and I hope that my daughter continues to strengthen her relationship with him. I will be following the advice that I received on this forum, and I thank all of you with all of my heart! True believers of God help those that they don't even know without thinking about it twice! Thank ya'll so much!

Ruby.. I have chills after reading this praise report..  Wow!  God is Awesome and faithful..  Praise Him.  Thanks for posting dear sis in Christ..

Blessings, Carla

Thank you so much for responding, and I praise God for answering my prayers!
Will do! Thank you so much, and God Bless you and your family!
I am not sure what the scary is, but it might be a demon, one of Satan's angels, and I have prayed that the demons must get away from your child, but maybe that won't work. I am not sure. The demons I have arounf me did not go away yet.
