With different modern kind of music styles and accompaniment, is this makes Christian music better or worse?

Larry,
I don't think it makes it necessarily better or worse, just different. In any era of time you could have traveled the globe and found various styles of music. The same is true today. You will also find some variations between generations, though this is more common in the last 100 or so years. The key to music is the words. What do the words say?
For simplicity sake I will break the words for songs down into three groups. 1) Christ honoring. 2) Neutral, 3) Dishonoring Christ. I have no problem listening to the first two groups, but must refrain from listening to group three.
These three groups apply to many things in life, such as TV, hobbies and even employment to name a few.
Lord Bless,

I believe a music to be clasify as Christian music needs the basics criteria:
1. Christian lyrics
2. Originally intended for GOD ( not a secular song then converted to praise God but with exemption of course depending on the new lyrics).
3. For Praising and worshipping God not stirring ones emotion
4. Can be sing even without accompaniment and yet same energy, same thankfullness, same intention.
5. BIBLICAL not just rhymes, rhytems and tones was considered.
6.
7.
Please feel free to add some more criteria..... tnx
We have to set limits between Christian music and neutral music.
Christian music must have Christian lyrics otherwise is not a Christian music.
Biblical truth and contents must no be neglected to satisfy tones, ryhmes, melody, emotions, energy and others.
What are the believers difference from the unbelievers? Why are we called peculiar people?
I believed satan uses not only people, circumstances and even music to deceived us away from the true praise and worhsip.
Let us be aware of our emotions and feelings. Christian music main focus is God not what we would feel and experience.
BIBLE must be the guidelines of all our speech and actions. We cannot do all things because its how deep we understand the Scriptures. Reaching out should not be limited to our territory but beyond our reach. Christian Music can reached beyond our territory, so be careful musician.
Why can't song lyrics be about our experiences of God, how we feel? How He Loves by John Mark McMillan was written in response to him losing his best friend in a car crash:
This is one of my all time favorite songs and it was written essentially out of pain
This is better, this is roughly how to do it:
When did you felt this emotions and feelings? after having those memories and stories?
after singing the lines? during and after this beautiful instrument takes it part?
Christian Music is for God. what if you don't have those stories and experiences? what is your emotions and feelings?
Being in Gods presence is like nothing between you in God. instrument, rhymes, tones is not a factor but the words, the conversation thru lyrics...
Preference and tastes makes a big difference in Christian music.
I love instruments my dear and it what make or break the christian music. making the christian music as an entertainment piece makes me sad. christian music is becoming just like over the counter generics medicine. christian music should be treated with respect for it is a piece for God. What would God feel it we sing that piece to him is what matters to me not what would i feel singing that piece. Christian music must not be a replacement for the preaching and hearing the word of God.
Grazer,
I agree with you. We are people of emotion. If our music does not at times stir our emotions to a point of needing to jump around a little bit, it probably has become too stale. At least it should cause us to clap our hands. The Bible is very clear on what you are speaking about here. You are right on.
