I have a very good friend who was brought up a Christian and knowing God, he drifted away but still had some kind of relationship with him. He is now engaged to a woman who drinks, smokes and really doesnt want to know God at all, shes a lovely woman but their relationship has distroyed his spiritual relationship. God is starting to move in him again and hes dug out his bible and is really looking for god. Theres just one problem. Evil just does not want to let him go. There is a huge spiritual battle going on inside him, one minute hes super happy when hes around christian friends but the moment he leaves depression takes hold of him. Its clinging to his heart and i can see it weakening him. I dont know what to do! God is definitly working and calling him i can feel it im soo excited to help him find god but ive never done anything like this before and im really unsure of how i can help. Has anyone been in a similar situation before and has any advice? Im trying to listen to what God wants me to do but i dont know how to fight the evil thats hurting him so much!
Thanks xxx

I have this problem with three of my children. They were raised in a Christian household but chose to go in the opposite direction. Now two of them are trying to work their way back.
I don't know if any of this is helpful, but I think the following can be applied to many different relationships.
1. I am not responsible for my adult child's (or friend's) sinful choices.
2. I must not protect him/her from all the consequences of this sin because I might be interfering with the work God is doing.
3. I am just one of many means that God may use and is using in the life of my child (friend).
4. It is within God's powere to save my child (friend). I can not save him.
I hope this helps a little. Remember to keep praying for your friend and remember that God answers your prayer.
Ezer,
We've all seen Christians in similar situations & even experienced drifting away from God ourselves. You must make sure that you keep your eyes on Jesus & not on your friend or you may fall into the evil he's involved with. What I mean is Peter walked on water until he took his eyes off of Jesus. Your friend is enjoying the pleasures of sin for a season & the Lord will deal with him. If your Christian friends are not having sex outside of marriage, then they are like a thorn in his heart, because he knows he's sinning. Usually, giving encouragement, advice or criticism is only appreciated once, so be careful when & how you do it. Ask, if he want's your advice first.
