All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

I am wondering, why are you here? (To quote a famous movie character)

Just for fun and getting to know folks here better, I'm wondering why you are here. Two points to consider:

a) What do you hope to give

and

b) What do you hope to gain?

What motivates you do spend time here?

I started coming in here to commune with other Christians, to hear what they are thinking and to share some of my thoughts with them. I don't have a large number of friends, and the ones I do have, don't really think about God in the same way as I do. In fact, there are many times in here that I wonder if people look at God the way I do. I always have a thirst for God and my friends from outside this site mostly are into worldly things.

I know when I come in here that I am going to *hear* something about God. I don't always agree, and I frequently will give my response that doesn't coincide with any others, but I give it.

I am learning what others think. I examine what they have to say, and learn where I am right or wrong, and possibly where they are right and wrong.

I am learning who is secure in their faith and who needs to grow or rethink their position. I learn what I need to rethink. I learn where I need to grow. I learn what people think that doesn't really matter.

I am learning some things about how to spot a strong believer from a weak one. I am learning who blows smoke from who really knows an answer to a question.

I am learning who is sincere vs the guy who is blowing smoke.  AAG is one of the best sites that I have visited. I feel at home here.

All in all, I'm glad I belong here, and come in daily, at least once.

My pet peeves are

Videos

Articles posted written by someone other than a member.

I hope my response is in line with what you asked.

Blessings...

Rita, thanks for sharing. That's exactly in line with what I was thinking.

I came here orignally at the request of a friend. I enjoyed getting involved in the discussions (forums) regarding the various topics. I sought to learn and to share.

One thing I have noticed is that people come here for various reasons and connect in various areas of AAG which I think is great. Some come looking for Jesus or a deeper relationship with Him. Some, like me, enjoy the forums primarily. Some enjoy blogging. Some enjoy the chat room and the fellowship. There are those who are engaged in groups, some in the prayer room. Others like posting videos.

It is amazing as to how much there is to do here if one wants to participate. I am thankful that God led the founders of AAG to start this site as an extension of their ministry about 3 1/2 years ago.

Lord Bless,

LT, I've really enjoyed seeing your presence and leadership grow here.

Thanks for the encourgement and know you are appreciated on AAG.

Lord Bless,

Amanda, I have been pondering how to respond. Your statements were bold and personal. I didn't want to say anything trite. There's a ton of people here on AAG who are happy you are alive!

I think most of us are here to share. Knowing that we have helped in any measure is a huge blessing to all of us, but ultimately it's a privilege given by Christ and it is He who has helped.

You are welcome Ama (brat) hahaha I still love that I can call you that hehe :)

Praise God for AAG and the family of believers we find here. I have never seen another site as blessed as this one, it might be out there and that would be a great thing, but Praise the Lord for this one. Love you all!

Someone invited me to this community, I don't remember who that was though :) Anyhoo, as a single Christian man with no kids is vital that I keep busy in Godly activities, I am very active in ministry, but I still have more time than most, so I felled in love with the site, because it gave me something to do other than reading (I don't watch TV). I quickly found that this community is a great place to edify and be edified. I am going on two blessed years here and loving it. I wish I have more time to comment on more discussions and to be more active, but I love you all. Chao.

So I am here to stay and to continue to give and receive what we freely received.

Great question bro.

Excellent. The neat part is that this a place you can give without expecting anything back. It's a very cool place. Your ministry here is very encouraging to me.

Hi,

I am recently saved, and I know that I need the fellowship of fellow Christians to strengthen and learn along my journey, this is what primarily drew me to AAG. I don't belong to a church yet, I don't drive and most of the churches in my area are 5+ miles away so I'm guessing I will be taking a lot of taxis until I have passed my test, (or I could cycle but may arrive rather glowing hehe).

I hope to be able to give some advice , maybe I have experienced a similar situation or question. I feel I do not know enough of the Bible to quote with a deep knowledge, however I have already done a great deal of Bible study, and am constantly learning and discovering as I read.

I hope to gain friends, who share my faith in Jesus, and support, and help as I continue to grow as a 'relatively' new child of God.

Praise be to the Lord

Lucy P

Dear Scribe,

A. I hope to give what God has been teaching me. I pray for his guidance in my responses. I know that it is only through him that my words can effectively help. The Holy Spirit wants us to see ourselves and others the way God sees us. We are precious in his eyes. So I hope to give my love for all my Sisters and Brothers who come here.

B. I used to think that we were all so different. But really we are not. We have questions, we have fears, pain, joys so much that makes us really all part of one body. I hope to gain knowledge about God. I hope to see him in others that come here to share. God brought me to this web site to help me grow. So I might see many perspectives and learn who my Christian family is.

C.God motivates me to spend time here. He has blessed my life by the many Sisters and Brothers I would have never known otherwise.

your friend and Brother in Christ,

Journeymanhd

This site is really a blessing. The forum is great and help me  a lot not just for the replies on my post but the old and new post as well. Comparison  of views is really educational to read. The attitudes with the replies in discussion is really fun.  Doctrine is discuss in diiferent views, correction and rebuke is really open,  and a wonderful treatment for each brethren is present. God bless AAG.

Is regional or each country fellowship possible for AAG members?
