As i listened to a sermon this morning of a friend of mine, i was once again touched by his words. His whole sermon was about salvation and choices we have to make.
The message was from Luke 13:6 onwards about the fig tree that doesnt bear any fruit. So the owner of this tree told the vinedresser (or call it the garderner) to remove this tree, but the gardener asked him for another chance for this tree, he will nurse this tree, dig around it, fertilize it, water it and look after it, then after this time, if it doesnt bear fruit the owner can cuts it down.
When our lives is ruined by wrong choices and wrongdoings, Jesus is our gardener, HE gives us the opportunity to choose again,He dig out the dirt, turn the ground, around our stems, our roots, HE fertilize our lives with the Word (the food for our souls),He gives the living water!! He gives us the courage to continue when we can't go on, the strenght to conquer difficulties, the power to continue and to live our lives to His glory. So the Fahter (our MAster) can give us another chance and see that we grow and bear fruit (the fruit of the Spirit as in Gal 5:22-24)
And i wondered, how many of us gets the opportunity of another chance to turn our lives to Jesus? And do we take it?
How many of us remember that Jesus is our High Priest, standing in our gap with the Father, pleading for us for another chance? He gave His life for us to have a chance to be save! Did you make a choice already?
He also told the story i heard long ago about this very wise man lived in a town and the people went to him to with a trick question. One man hold a bird in his hand and decided to asked this wise man if the bird is dead or alive? Thinking that if this man said the bird is dead, he will open up his hands and let the bird fly, and when this man said the bird is alive, he will squash the bird dead, in order to prove this man wrong. So when they ask the man this question, the man said that the choice is in his hands. He has his fate in his hands.
Just like us...
we have the choice of our lives in our hands.
What did you choose???
