There is a simpe secret - master it, and you can have everything your heart desires. This is true, but still there has never been a time of more frustration, mental, and physical crackups, broken homes, crime, and greed than we have today.. The root of most of it is discontent. Grasping for something beyond reach, striving for something beyond ability, coveting something beyond means, or wishing for something beyond the will of God.

Never have we had so much, and never have we been less satisfied. We see someone else with something better, and plunge into a mad scramble to get that. It seems that men have become obsessed with the idea that happiness can be secured with "things." God warns, "15 He told the people, “Be careful to guard yourselves from every kind of greed. Life is not about having a lot of material possessions.” Luke 12:15 (GW)* We are a gadget - conscious generation. We have more things than they have had in any other age; yet perhaps we have less real contentment. The more "things" we possess, the more time we have, and consequently more frustrations results. Man cannot be happy and content as long as there are unfulfilled desires. For the Christian, it is possible to have everything his heart desires, and with that comes contentment . If you are not content there is a reason. You either want the wrong things or you want more than God wants you to have. We have developed a false idea of happiness.
