During my Church planters training many have asked me this simple and important question, Can woman involve in God’s ministry? They quote from Paul letter, we read in 1Timothy 2:11 – “Let a woman learn in silence with all submission”. Many take this verse and keep quiet and not doing any ministry not even sharing testimony. Woman’s role in seeking the lost is equally important as man seeking the lost. There are two different roles in working for the Kingdom. First saving or seeking the lost and second working within the Kingdom of God.
“Seek the lost” – Bringing people from Kingdom of Satan to Kingdom of God.
1. Jesus explained this in His parables. Luke 15: The Parable of the Lost Sheep. Verse 4 "What man of you, having a hundred sheep.” Here the “man” lost his sheep not woman or shepherd but “Man”.
2. The Parable of the Lost Coin - Verse 8 “What woman, having ten silver coins.” Here the “woman” lost her coin not man but “Woman”.
Therefore, we see here according to Jesus, man and women are responsible to work in His Kingdom and seek the lost and bring them in to His Kingdom.
After we enter into the Kingdom can we work within
1. We need to see the parables of Jesus Christ. The parable in Matthew 13 gives us clear picture on this subject. The Parable of the Mustard Seed – Verse 31, "The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field.” Here the man took and sowed not woman or farmer but “Man”. the Kingdom of God?
2. Again in The Parable of the Leaven – verse 33, "The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened." Here the woman took and hid not man but “Woman”.
Therefore, we see here according to Jesus, after coming to His Kingdom, man and women are responsible to work within
His Kingdom.
God’s punishment to Adam (man) and Eve (woman):
In the book of Genesis 2, we read God punished man and woman not cursed, God cursed only the Satan. Man and woman were punished for their sin for disobeying.
1. When God said in Genesis 2:16, to the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in pain you shall bring forth children; your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you." The punishment was pain “inside” and she will suffer “inside”.
2. But to Adam in verse 17-18, then to Adam He said, "Because you have heeded the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree of which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat of it': " Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the herb of the field.” Here we see the punishment was “outside” you will suffer.
Leadership in the Kingdom
We read in Luke 12: 42-45, “but if that servant says in his heart, 'My master is delaying his coming,' and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk”. Jesus used here male and female servants; therefore, God wants man and woman to work in His Kingdom and Church which is His body.
