Will you Be Chosen?

This scripture reminded me of my recent jury duty service. When I had been called to jury duty I arrived at the courthouse to find about 120 people waiting. I thought that this must be for a lot of different cases, but it wasn't. All of these people had been called for one case; however, they were only going to choose eight jurors out of the 120.

Mat 22:14 "For many are called, but few are chosen."

I wondered why they called so many. Some people could not serve because they had other things planned (vacations, weddings, etc), some had biases that made them believe that they already knew everything, yet there were a few who were ready to serve and they were chosen.

Everyone is called to be "Christ's," but not everyone will be chosen. Not everyone is willing to lay down themselves and pick up the cross of Christ so they can be chosen.
