Why people use sites that are meant to uplift and help as a way to deceive

I received a response to my discussion about "Christianity means Sainthood" from a woman named Paula Atta. This lady states she read my profile and had something sensitive to discuss with me and would I email her? I did because in my profile I mention I have Sarcoidosis (auto - immune disease) also I have had Lymphoma and two kidney transplants. I shared this on my profile because I give total glory to God for seeing me thru. I thought she may be going thru something similar or wanted to ask about it. What she did instead was try to pull a money scam, saying she is a medical student, her parents were murdered in front of her and she needed my help getting her millions before her Uncle became her guardian and took her money. She asked me to assume guardianship and have th money transferred to my accounts, she said she would give me a sizable fee for doing this. The reason I am sharing this is I don't want her to tint this site or do this with anyone else. I did explain to her about God's grace and how he gives us as Christians discernment. I said I hope God would enter her heart to help her understand how wrong it is to do what she is trying to do to people. I also told her I would make people aware of this. Just did not want her to actually trick someone into helping her out of Love.

I cannot speak for other sites or to each person's motives, but in regards to TheNET I can say that we seek to screen people before they join. This screening is not going to catch everyone who comes here with motives other than to seek Jesus, discuss Him with others and experience Christian fellowship online. We have a number of volunteers who watch various parts of this site and report to Carla or me to react to situations that break our membership policy. We also rely on our membership to do the same. There is a link on the right side near the bottom of our homepage. The link, "Report an Issue" is found in the segment titled "Keeping TheNET Safe." We encourage our membership to use this to alert us of potential problems. We follow up each report.

The person you mentioned was suspended earlier today for breaking our membership agreement as one of our members pointed this person out and we responded ASAP.
