1. GOD is our Father by right of the blood of JESUS.
2. Our basis of eternal security is being in the Father's hand.
My Father, Who has given them to Me, is greater and mightier than all [else]; and no one is able to snatch [them] out of the Father's hand. (John 10:29)
3. The highest motivation to holiness is to know His Father love for us.
Beloved, we are [even here and] now God's children; it is not yet disclosed (made clear) what we shall be [hereafter], but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall [as God's children] resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him just as He [really] is. 3 And everyone who has this hope [resting] on Him cleanses (purifies) himself just as He is pure (chaste, undefiled, guiltless). (1 John 3:2-3)
4. The basis of prayer is that we pray to the Father in JESUS' name.
Pray, therefore, like this: Our Father Who is in heaven, hallowed (kept holy) be Your name. (Matthew 6:9)
5. The basis of understanding GOD'S guidance is His Fatherhood.
The watchman opens the door for this man, and the sheep listen to his voice and heed it; and he calls his own sheep by name and brings (leads) them out. 4When he has brought his own sheep outside, he walks on before them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. (John 10:3-4)
6. Every family derives its name from the Father, so GOD the Father is the model for headship in our families.
For this reason [seeing the greatness of this plan by which you are built together in Christ], I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 For Whom every family in heaven and on earth is named [that Father from Whom all fatherhood takes its title and derives its name]. (Ephesians 3:14-15)
A father of the fatherless and a judge and protector of the widows is God in His holy habitation.
6 God places the solitary in families and gives the desolate a home in which to dwell; He leads the prisoners out to prosperity; but the rebellious dwell in a parched land. (Psalm 68:5-6)
7. GOD wants us to yield to His gentle parental authority as Father.
WHEN ISRAEL was a child, then I loved him and called My son out of Egypt. (Hosea 11:1)
Yet I taught Ephraim to walk, taking them by their arms or taking them up in My arms, but they did not know that I healed them.
4 I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love, and I was to them as one who lifts up and eases the yoke over their cheeks, and I bent down to them and gently laid food before them. (Hosea 3-4)
Fathers, do not irritate and provoke your children to anger [do not exasperate them to resentment], but rear them [tenderly] in the training and discipline and the counsel and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4)
8. The basis of trusting GOD is seeing Him as absolutely faithful Father.
Again I tell you, if two of you on earth agree (harmonize together, make a symphony together) about whatever [anything and everything] they may ask, it will come to pass and be done for them by My Father in heaven. (Matthew 18:19)
If we are faithless [do not believe and are untrue to Him], He remains true (faithful to His Word and His righteous character), for He cannot deny Himself. (2 Timothy 2:13)
9. When we see GOD as Father, we will trust His parental generosity.
These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. 33 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. (Matthew 6:32-33)
10. Knowing GOD as Father is the basis of receiving His parental affection.
Of Benjamin he said,
"May the beloved of the LORD dwell in security by Him,
Who shields him all the day,
And he dwells between His shoulders." (Deuteronomy 33:12)
The LORD appeared to him from afar, saying,
"I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore I have drawn you with lovingkindness. (Jeremiah 31:3)
11. Knowing GOD as Father is the basis of receiving His parental attentiveness.
Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds. (Matthew 6:26)
Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. (1 Peter 5:7)
12. Knowing GOD as Father is the basis of receiving His acceptance and resting securely in Him.
To purchase the freedom of (to ransom, to redeem, to atone for) those who were subject to the Law, that we might be adopted and have sonship conferred upon us [and be recognized as God's sons]. 6 And because you [really] are [His] sons, God has sent the [Holy] Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba (Father)! Father! 7Therefore, you are no longer a slave (bond servant) but a son; and if a son, then [it follows that you are] an heir by the aid of God, through Christ. (Galatians 4:5-7)
13. GOD'S relationship to us as Father is the legal basis of receiving all our inheritance in JESUS CHRIST.
Giving thanks to the Father, Who has qualified and made us fit to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints (God's holy people) in the Ligh (Colossians 1:12)
[Born anew] into an inheritance which is beyond the reach of change and decay [imperishable], unsullied and unfading, reserved in heaven for you. (1 Peter 1:4)
14. Knowing GOD as a loving Father is the basis of enjoying an intimate relationship with Him. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 is a picture of the Father's love.
Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. 5 It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. 6 It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. 7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7)
Personalize it, and receive it for yourself. My Father who loves me is patient with me, kind to me...My Father's love is not rude, nor self-seeking, not easily angered, and keeps no record of wrongs. My Father's love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. My Father's love always protects me, always trusts me, always hopes [believes the best about me], always perseveres and never gives up on me. My Father's love for me never fails.
15. The Father is seeking worshippers. When we understand GOD'S Father heart, we will worship Him in spirit and in truth.
