Hello every one!!! Did you ever ask the above question?.... Well the verse tell us that Jesus is humble and lowly ... but there is more than that for the answer which I found in my study Bible and I want to share with you .... hope it will bless you ....
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your King is coming to you;
Lowly and riding on the donkey,
A colt, the foal of a donkey.
I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim
And the horse from Jerusalem;
The battle bow shall be cut off.
He shall speak peace to the nations;
His dominion shall be 'from sea to sea,
And from the River to the ends of the earth.' Zachariah 9:9-10
There are so many treasures nestled in the verses of our Old Testament. Often the symbolic message is hidden from us simply because we live in a different, distant age. We know that this verse contains a prophecy which Jesus fulfilled when He made His triumphal entry into Jerusalem (Matt. 21:1-5). But is there a symbolic message conveyed by entering the city on a donkey?
In Old Testament times, kings rode horses when they made war. Conquerors rode into a city on a horse. when kings came in peace they rode donkeys into a city, thus showing they posed no threat.
What a contrast this is with Revelation 19:11. Jesus entered Jerusalem on that donkey with His message of forgiveness and grace. When He returns, it will be on a white horse to make war on all who reject God.
The Christ who comes to us today with His offer of salvation is the Christ riding the donkey. The Christ whose coming we await will ride a horse and make war.
I know you are blessed.... and
Remain blessed all
Have a blessed and wonderful Easter all
With His love your sis.
