who are we..
We struggle at times, who are we, how should we be w/ others? Yes, we know the scriptures, Phil 2:2-3 Then fill me with joy by having the same attitude and the same love, living in harmony, and keeping one purpose in mind. Don't act out of selfish ambition or be conceited. Instead, humbly think of others as being better than yourselves.
So here is a great example, have the same attitude and love. We may gloss over all this, nice idea but, come on Paul how? I think if we break down these verses, we are able to in part to see how. We start at the end and work our way back. As we consider each other, we should do it w/ the mindset of, humbly think of others as being better than yourselves. O.K., once again how? Don't act out of selfish ambition or be conceited. It maybe hard to think of others as better then us so, we change how and why we do things. No longer for selfish gain, or arrogant attitudes. As my goal is for your benefit, and yours is for my benefit, we will be living in harmony. From there, we are born of the same Love, all this combined, we have the same attitude. Living this way in obedience to His Word, we are all then filled w/ Joy, sharing that Joy w/ the Father.
You so not need a microscope to see some of my faults, they are in plain sight. The question is not if they are there, they are. The question is, why look? As we consider each other, better then ourselves. Looking for each others faults, will not make us appear better. But, looking for each others strengths, the strengths from God. That is how we must be. Be kind to each other, sympathetic, forgiving each other as God has forgiven you through Christ. Eph 4:32
Put on, therefore, as the chosen ones of God, holy and beloved, mercy and compassion, kindness and humility of mind, gentleness and long-suffering; Col 3:12
As we look at each other through, mercy and compassion, even before that is something stronger. As we look at each other, as the chosen ones of God, holy and beloved, when we see one another that way, good luck finding fault. You will not even want to. Praise God.
We all will see what is best in each other. Building one another up, w/ our strength, for their strengths. And vice versa. This is the Body working as One. We not only need to do these things but, also expect them from each other.
So we will, be kind to each other. We will have mercy and compassion, kindness and humility of mind, because we don't act out of selfish ambition or be conceited. From the fruit of our humility, we have harvested the same attitude and the same love, living in harmony, and keeping one purpose in mind. As we look at each other, we are as the chosen ones of God, holy and beloved. Our nature is clear to the world, for they see us and our actions. We are lead by Holy Ghost, to be kind to each other, sympathetic, forgiving each other as God has forgiven you through Christ.
I think this may be a good way to start. To the Glory of Jesus.
