What It Means to me being a Christian

In today's society, we are faced with so much stress. However, I can recall my Bible teachers from long time ago say put all your trust in Jesus. Believe in John 3:16 bc Jesus is the only way to the father which is God. I truly feel that people will naturally fail trying to live in perfect accordance to the ten commandments. However, with church and counseling a person can see that our Lord Jesus has always been there and he will always be there especially in times of trouble. Like I said, believe in John 3:16 and know that Jesus has compassion on everybody. I thank God for saving me and many others from our sins.Hope you enjoyed my blog.

Wow-thanks for the response to my blog. I'm not a writer or even a very smart woman. I had too many friends in the past wind up on the wrong road. One friend was a police officer. She was shot twice and was killed. She was only 23. She left behind two children. One of the children is my godson. We will be judged by others but it doesn't mean that I have to like it. I really miss my friend. One day, I will see her in heaven. Anyway, I really appreciate your response. Remember, to correct me bc I read the Bible but still I have trouble understanding the Bible-thanks:):):):)

The believer and the world.
In John 17 the Lord Jesus prays to His Father, He speaks to Him about His own and mentions the world several time. By "the world" He means that institution of the common life of people who have excluded God. Each one of us who now believe in the Lord Jesus as our Savior once belonged to this world. So He says in verse 6, "I have manifested your name to the men whom you have given me out of the world."
As redeemed children of God we are living in the world at the present time, but we no longer belong to it. The Lord Jesus has saved us out of the world. He went on to pray, "These are in the world ..... And the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am no of the world"(vv. 11 & 14).
But we have been left here for a particular purpose: " As you sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world" (v 18). The Son of God came to earth as a Man to reveal the Father and make Him known. After His ressurrection He returned to heaven. But He has left us here as His ambassadors representing His interests. We are to show the world that we belong to God's family. We can live here according to God'd principles and thus witness for Him. But we should not be suprised if we are misunderstood or even hated: it was no different for our Lord.
