Walking where Paul walked! last invite :)

Greetings, Friends.

As thankful I am to be an American, celebrating our nation's birth, I am also thankful for the freedom and opportunity to explore the roots of Christianity.

How exciting it will be to walk where Paul walked - together. Several in our group have traveled with me before, but for others it will be the first time, and I am looking forward to getting to know you. On a journey like this one in April, just as in the footsteps of Jesus in Israel, there are three key factors: the Bible teacher (me), the guide (Ezer - pictured along with me at Gideon Springs), and the itinerary.

By way of explanation, my first two trips to Israel were with large groups, and I learned a lot, grateful for the experience. However, on my third trip, I traveled with Ezer of Holyland Pilgrimage Tours. What an entirely different experience! You see, those first two tours used knowledgeable Israeli Jewish guides, who competently discussed the Land, her people, her history, military, etc., but those guides were not believers in Jesus Christ; therefore, there was a huge piece missing in their delivery about each of the aforementioned factors. You see, everything--and I do mean, everything--is different when we look at it through the lens of being a follower of Jesus Christ, believing what the Bible teaches about Him, our redemption, our world today, and eternity.

So as we convene together in Thessaloniki, Greece, we can do so expectantly--of what we will see and learn from the pages of Scripture, matching the sites mentioned in Scripture to existing places today.

**the Bible is what it purports to be: truth -- that which conforms to reality.**

There is also a richness from the experience of being together as our faith becomes sight.

There will be so many experiences from Philippi and Thessaloniki, to Athens - where Paul reasoned with the religious Athenians on Mars Hill. [See the Areopagus pictured below.] We will go to Ephesus and even the Isle of Patmos where John wrote his letters and received the Revelation, and finish in historically and culturally rich Rome.
