Unity in the Body

Ephesians 4:11-16

11  He is the one who gave these gifts to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12 Their responsibility is to equip God's people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ, 13 until we come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God's Son that we will be mature and full grown in the Lord, measuring up to the full stature of Christ.

14 Then we will no longer be like children, forever changing our minds about what we believe because someone has cleverly lied to us and made the lie sound like the truth.  15 Instead, we will hold to the truth in love, becoming more and more in every way like Christ who is the head of his body, the church. 

16 Under his dierection, the whole body is lifted together perfectly.  As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

Christ as the head of the body, brings us  'together perfectly'.  The way we function here at AAG is evident that we have a common goal.  Christ as the head of this church brings us together from different parts of the world, from all walks of life to do His work.  I know that people like me are trying, though with difficulty, to be more like Christ each day.  The support I receive from brothers and sisters here on AAG  is leading me towards that goal slowly but surely.  I know it is a long journey, but since I am a work in progress, I know I will reach my goal in the end.

As some of us are still young, ' not fully mature' , it is easy to be lied to, if there is inconsistency in our faith.  We need to be vigilant at all times because the end is almost here and the adversay is aggressive now, seeking to destroy the progress we have made.  Let's continue to support each other and stand together as one in our faith, so that when He returns He might not find us wanting. 

Let us be united in faith and share the knowledge of the Word to uplift those who are weak  so that we grow and mature in the Lord. I believe that whatever goes on here on AAG is inspired by the Holy Spirit, to fulfil the desires of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who out of His love for us made that great sacrifice of Himself, so that we can have life abundantly.  Praise be to His Holy Name!

As immature as I am in the faith, I might have misunderstood the text above. I am subject to corrections.  It is through these corrections that I will grow.
