'Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory You have given me because You loved me before the creation of the world' - John 17:24
The course leader concluded his lecture: 'We live to ultimately be able to see the glory of our Saviour.' A student came to him later. 'We don't have a problem with this life', he said. 'It's exciting - exactly what we seek. But I have a problem with life after death, with the objective of seeing the glory of Jesus. You say that heaven is not mainly about meeting our loved ones again or the insights that we'll have then. It revolves aroud God and his glorification. It revolves aroud 1 Corinthians 15:28 - 'When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so that God may be all in all.' What I am enjoying now is good enough for me. I am already struggling to give sufficient praise to God. How will I manage to do it every day in eternity?'
The course leader regarded him calmly. ' As little as the tortoise can imagine life in the human world, so little can even the saved sinner in this life visualise the meaning of life in the kingdom of praise and in the eternal presence of the
God of glory,' he said. 'Don't worry yourself about that now. We are still mere tortoises.'
Thank you Lord, that the ultimate view of Your glory will mean transition into another dimension. Amen!
