The One Thing Most People Are Missing But Need To Be Successful

Many people do not have this one quality that is absolutely necessary for the Lord to use you in what He has for you.

2 Sam 16:5-7 When King David came to Bahurim, behold, there came out from there a man of the family of the house of Saul whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera; he came out cursing continually as he came. He threw stones at David and at all the servants of King David; and all the people and all the mighty men were at his right hand and at his left. Thus Shmei said when he cursed, "Get out, get out, you man of bloodshed, and worthless fellow!”

The men that were with David saw what was going on and they wanted to take out the man that was cursing their king.

2 Sam 16:9 Then Abishi the son of Zeruiah said to the king, "Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me go over now and cut off his head."

But how did David react?

2 Sam 16:10 But the King said, "What have I to do with you, O sons of Zeruiah? If he curses, and if the Lord has told him, "Curse David" then who shall say, "Why have you done so?"

Can you imagine having that kind of humility? It was this level of humility that made David a man after God's own heart. His humility was the reason God could use him. How would you have reacted to this man?

We need to strive for this kind of humility so the Lord can use us to build his kingdom. Do you have that kind of humility?
