According to Answers.com a miracle is: An event that appears inexplicable by the laws of nature and so is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God: “Miracles are spontaneous; they cannot be summoned, but come of themselves”
Having pondered over my bygone years and relating to the lives of my friends, neighbors, and such others, I am of the opinion that time and again there was an invisible hand working, joining, weaving, fabricating the little sinews, pieces, bits, threads of my life even without my knowledge or understanding…
Through this blog, I would like to share the many aspects of our lives which we never regarded…
Life around us: beautiful nature – trees, mountains, hills, fish, flowers, plants, little insects, water, air; little animals, a nest in the garden, songs of birds in the morning, sight of stocks by the river, morning sun, sun’s warmth, cold breeze, breeze carrying the odor of paddy, the fresh scent of mud, drizzling rain, clouds on a sunny day, countryside, shade of a tree….
Our bodies and senses – sight, hearing, touch, sense of smell and taste, being able to be independent – walking, writing, reading, playing, moving, expressing. Sleep, good health, appetite.
Family – mother’s love, father’s concern, brother’s care and comfort, grandparents’ assuring words
Friends – people who pray for you, people who make you happy, people who rejoice at the sight of you, people who miss you, people whom you love and who love you, teachers, friends in foreign countries, people who write to you, people who cry with you, people with whom you can be open and share, travelers in the bus and train, classmates, colleagues, bosses, our blessed friends of the domestic department, cab drivers who recognize and smile at you, shopkeepers who address you with a smile and greet you, security guards who blink happily at you, a friend who inquires about you, a missed call from a stranger who later becomes your well wisher, an aunt who calls you on your birthday to greet you….
Our education, qualification, profession, vocation, dreams, aspirations, goals…our extended family at church, work, school, sport ground, music class and concerts, theater, entertainment...
Most importantly, the gift of the knowledge and understanding of God as our Father, being able to call Him as our father, being able to speak to Him, call Him, cry to Him, rejoice with Him, being able to know that He is our Giver and Provider…from the least important thing such as sugar, tea, bread, firewood to great things such as profession, recognition, freedom and freewill, respect. His great intimacy – His voice, His call, His love, His concern, His promises, His covenants, His longing and desiring for us…. His soft whispers of ‘I love you’, ‘I am thinking of you’, ‘Are you sad, what happened today?’ ‘I was and am waiting for you,’ Shall we be friends, you and me, we make a good team?’ ‘How and where did you fall? Come let me dress your injuries.’ ‘I wrote a song for you, shall I sing it?’ ‘Did you think of Me today, did you miss Me?’ ‘I sent you a special gift, did you get it, and are you happy with the gift?’ ‘Happy Birthday my sweet child.’ ‘Come sleep on my shoulders.’ ‘Won’t you tell why you are so happy today?’ ‘Welcome, come into my arms.’ ‘Let me kiss you and bless you.’
The best, the biggest, the greatest of all gifts that a friend could give is love!! God the Father loves you and me…He loves us as He loves Himself, so His love for us made Him sacrifice part of Himself (Jesus) so that He can ransom us to Himself. These are the miracles of our lives… I know you must be in trouble and pain, distress and sorrow, hopeless and without any faith…you must have even told yourself that God might be angry with you and that is the reason your prayers and cries and not heard. My sweet friend… God is busy planning, wait till He finishes…He is making something excellent for you!!
