I'm in the middle of cleaning out the pantry, because we're going to have to move. By "we" I mean YOU, my online friends, and me. Now, that's got you scratching your head, eh?
Well, let me explain so that we can be prepared for our big move...
For the past few years, we'd had a pretty full house at our place, which meant I had to move my computer. And, conveniently, we have this HUGE pantry, which years ago, we'd utilised the space to fit our computer in... that was before we built our home office. After that, the extra space in the pantry became storage area.
So, when we had more family move in with us, I reclaimed my pantry area. And then, last year, some of the family felt it was time to move on again, which included our son. He got work and moved away. So, then we had an empty room, and that is where I've been for the past few months.
And now, our son has decided it will be much cheaper for him if he moves home. Of course we don't mind. We love to have him around. But that means he wants his room back.
So, my friends, you are going to have to move with me to the pantry. Only one trouble I found there is that it is SO tempting to snack!! I might have to share some with you!!
Anyhow, here I am typing this instead of moving. Why? I've just had to fumigate the place. I pulled out a box of books and, eeewwww!!!, cockroaches ran everywhere. So, I promise you we won't move until they're eradicated.
But I've got a spiritual lesson out of all that. In our Jesus Discovery group, we are looking at John 1, and up to verse 5, which says, "And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it."
Darkness cannot handle being exposed, so when the light is shone there, and those evil deeds of darkness (the cockroaches) will scatter. As Jesus says in John 3:19-21:
“There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants.” (NLT)
Anyhow, I'd better get back to the moving. I hope the moving doesn't disturb you too much!! :-) I promise to get rid of the cockroaches, and I promise I'll have some yummy goodies in there for you.
See you in the PANTRY!!! Blessings!
