"The smarter a man is the more he needs God to protect him from thinking he knows everything.
We need to be careful. The more confident we are, the more likely our egos will get us into trouble. We start to think that we are teachers and others are students. We start to judge others. We start to play God. After a while we really get good at it. We need to remind ourselves, we are here to do God's will. Each day we need to to see what He would have us do. At night we need to spend time with God and review our day."
The above is a condensed version of a Bible study that was sent to me a couple of days ago. I posted it on Facebook and received this comment from a friend, "It's a good thing that you aren't very bright." I had to laugh because it is a good thing. My lack of education and social skills help to keep me humble I pray because some times I do start to get a big head and think that I alone have a direct line to God. I believe that I alone am walking on the narrow path and everybody else is just going through the motions and will wind up in eternity wishing that they had done more for my best friend Jesus. It is things like this comment and the Bible study that keeps me in line, along with a daily and moment by moment inspection of my actions and words throughout the day.
It is said that God will use the simple things to do His works here on earth...use me God, use me, you won't find anyone more simple. I am what I am. I have lived most of my life in the wrong lane and now God has given me a second chance in this life to do what He considers right. I thank you Lord for your mercy and grace, I will use your grace as that small time that will expire before I leave this earth to do what is right and to grow in your presence my Lord. To live for Jesus is my goal each day; what do you want me to do today, how can I reflect your presence to others today; speak to me today through your Spirit, teach me and counsel me today Lord. I thank you for your Spirit living in me today. I thank you Holy Spirit for putting up my downfalls each day, for never leaving me nor forsaking me.
Thank you Father, thank you Jesus, and thank you Holy Spirit for my life today.
