I was wondering if I may get some input from all of you about The Apostles' Creed.
Some people I speek with about this subject, believe that this Creed only pertains to the Catholic Faith.
"I believe in the Holy Spirit , The Holy Catholic church"
I've been thinking about this for awhile and Im not sure thats right.
The Catholic faith is a denomination on the Christian religion. We that study Theology understand that. The time in biblical history that we see The Apostles' Creed as we now know it today, was between 710-714 AD. It's original text is dated to 390 AD in the Roman Church.
So my question to all of you is.
1. Do you think The Apostles' Creed in something only Catholic's should include into their daily life.
2. Being The Apostles' Creed originated with the Roman church, is it now a blue print for a particular denomination's individual Creed?
I have attended several different churches of different denominations that all seem to use The Apostles' Creed in it's original form. Im not sure if they have just adopted this as part of their faith, or there is more to it.
This I know for sure:
Many people I have discussed this issue with have said they dont care to recite it because of the part that reflects the Catholic Church. For they are not Catholic.
What do you think?
