She was my friend and my cousin too
We shared many memories some good some blue
We laughed we cried and fought over a man or two
But we always had that bond forever and true
She never was one to stay in just one place
She chased after rainbows with determination on her face
She moved around but always had time to call
To see how I was doing and send her love to us all
Then one day she told me the news
She only had two years left and her life she would lose
The bond that made us friends and more
Were the horses we loved forever more
When she knew she could not ride again
She asked me to take her two horses in
A bay named Baby that I knew well
And a little paint mare were a part of the deal
I loaded up and made the trip
From Texas to Wyoming I did rip
I gathered the horses and said my farewell
To my dear friend that I knew so well
Three short months later she was gone
But her memory lives on
Whenever I miss her , I look outside
At that beautiful bay and the paint at his side
Now my heart doesn't break for my friend
For nothing is lost that is not gained
Her horses brought a light to my life
And my little ones love learning to ride
My three sons love that big bay
They ride him regularly and help throw his hay
He will let them do just about anything
And he never gets cranky or mean
Three little boys found a friend till the end
And all because of my wonderful friend
For Tammy
Thank you
