All About GOD

All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Continuing on from the last blog, and looking at James 3:1, where it says: "My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment."

What does James mean about that stricker judgment? And why is it more severe for teachers? Could seem a bit unfair!?

Anyhow, I've been doing a bit of study, but I'm not finished yet. But here are the bare bones of what I've found. I thought you might like to look at it for your study. So, here it is:

* ALL will stand before the judgment seat of Christ. (Rom 14:10)
* Judgment begins in the house of God, and with the believers first. (1 Pet 4:17)
* Judgment is stricter for teachers because of their responsibity. (2 Cor 5:9-11; Mat 18:6-7)
* All things will be exposed. God will reveal what's in a person's heart. (1 Cor 4:1-5)
* Judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. (James 2:13)
* God judges without partiality according to one's work. (1 Pet 1:17; Rev 20:11-15)
* Each one's works will be tested by fire. That which is done in the flesh will be burned, and he will suffer loss. That done in the spirit will endure, and he will be rewarded. (1 Cor 3:12-15)

To save you time in looking up all those references, I've copied them out here! Hope that helps!

I hope to get back and write more on that after of closer study of those texts. If you there's anything you find that you'd like to comment on, I'd love to hear your thoughts...

Bless ya!!

Oh, and another thing....

We are all teachers in a way, and we are all students... like here, now. We all have some insight to share, and also we all can learn from one another.

Thanks for that, Charles. Something there made me think.

Paul said that the special offices were for the equipping of the saints and for edifying the church. There is a danger for a teacher to spurt out knowledge, and gain a following, for his own glory. A secret is motive!

Anyhow, I've got some thoughts for the next post about the "wanna-be" teachers....
