SO IF THE SON SETS YOU FREE, YOU WILL BE ABSOLUTELY FREE ( JOHN 8:36 GWT ) Ask yourself what does it mean to be oppressed?
To oppress some one is the exercise of authority or power in a burdensome, cruel, or unjust manner. the feeling of being heavily burdened, mentally or physically, by troubles, adverse conditions, anxiety, etc.
Many oppressed people end up becoming oppressors themselves, every victim easily becomes a victimizer. Oppressed people get to the point where they become very angry because they feel trapped by the oppression.
Any time a person thinks that they can not change things and that they have no options , then they begins to be filled with rage, and can becomes abusive or violent, or despondent and depressed.
When some one feels entrapped like this they have no tolerance others telling them the things they need to do to get better, it is truly a snare of the Devil.
The fact is that we do have a choice that if we do not like or circumstances, or our situation. There is a way that we can find freedom from oppression. It is not by ignoring the problem, or as some have tried to do, speak it away.
No matter what is oppressing us, people, habits, addictions, circumstances, whoever, or whatever, the slave master might be in our lives; there is a way to find freedom.
You are mightier with Jesus Christ than the oppression that is in your life.
“You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.” (Acts 10:38)
"The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil." (1Jon 3:8b)
“I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13)
When we are united with Christ we also enter into the victory He has provided for us over all the oppression that has been a part of our lives.
As we continually yield up ourselves to the control of the Holy Spirit, then He will empower us, and give us wisdom. He will guide us, and He will uproot the lies that we have been believing. He will remove the oppression, and set us completely free.
“He whom the Son sets free is free indeed” ( John 8:36 )
We become free from the oppressions that we could not free ourselves from, then we go forth and live our lives as free men and women as testimonials to the liberator of our souls.
PRAYER
Father you once looked upon your people Israel while they were enslaved and oppressed in Egypt, they had no way of getting free from the oppression that they had to endure every day. You provided a deliverer and a way for them to find freedom. Father thank you that you have provided a way for us to set us free from oppression that seeks to enslave us. Father you have offered up your son Jesus Christ to set us free not only from the power of sin, but also from every oppression in our lives. Father we acknowledge of dependence upon you to bring us to freedom to us through the power of the Holy Spirit, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
hello Bob, it is one thing to be free and another to (know) enjoy the freedom. We are more than conquerors as children of God as our victory is in Christ. However, most of us lose the battle in the trenches of life where the battle takes place unceaselesslly (in our minds). We must learn to take up the victory banner daily. God bless you.

Thanks for the post James, remind me when you get your blog up so i can make sure I read it. In Christ is an amazing subject to think about. We do not grasp the implications as we should.
