Should Christians Observe April Fool's Day?

Considering the fact that nearly every “holiday” or celebration in the western word has some pagan connection, Christians are right to be wary of observing the day known as “April Fools Day.” The question does naturally arise whether the observance of “April Fools Day” is something the believer in Christ should observe.

Although it can be shown to have been observed in many countries over hundreds of years, an examination of the origin of this observance shows that its conception is shrouded in mystery. In spite of the fact that there is no know pagan celebration associated with the date April 1st, it does bear close resemblance to at least two Pagan festivals held near that date. Read more>>

oh darn. where do I get some of that comment spray that people seem to have on here! Anyway Craig , one of my questions was.I do put up a Christmas tree at Christmas but in my mind, heart and soul there is NOTHING BUT JESUS. Was the meaning behind the Christmas tree not created by the pagans who did not know Jesus but let our enemy rule their minds? Is it really the tree itself or what satan put in the minds of the pagans who gave the tree its meaning that is evil? God does look at the heart and if one puts up a Christmas tree with only Jesus in their minds, hearts and souls and places a list of blessings that the Lord has blessed them with throughout the year rather than material worldly things, is it really wrong? I do pray you recieve this so that I can have some input on this answer I have been seeking on this. I struggle with this and the last thing I want to do is disappoint or grieve our God. God bless you brother.
In His Grace,
Nancy

The Spirit of God is greatly grieved when the words of our mouths do not edify or minister grace to those around us.
Ephesians 4:29-30

Since we are to "speak as the oracles of God" (1 Peter 4:11), God would rather that we give thanks and edify one another, than cause dissention and strife among the brethren

Sorry Pamela , got tired of small talk such as "hi how's the weather" and brb, and bbl . Looking for the deeper knowledge our Lord has yet to impart to us,like it says He will in His word for those who seek. The implication that we "discuss things to make us feel that we have accomplished something important to God" is a gross assumption and accusation. We are ALL important to God just as we are.I will never apologize for having a hunger to learn as we continue to seek in ourselves the GRACE our Father has that He so wants us to have as well.I will be posting my questions later today. God bless you Pamela and Craig.

To whom much is given, much is required.

Maybe God was joking when he said: "Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them." Jeremiah 10:2

Was there nothing better he could spend his time talking about?

It's not about accomplishing something of importance for God, it's about leaving the heathen ways we have adopted.

It's not really a holiday here per se, but I know believers that still like to go along with it. I used to. Then I discovered the pagan connection. I sometimes wonder if even groundhog day is pagan.

hmm. it has never been a holiday here in Canada. We always went to work and to school. The most it has ever been considered being here that I know of is just kind of a "Practical joke day" and nothing more.
