Seeking Your Prayers

Job 13: 15, ” Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him….”

I Peter 4: 12, 13, “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.”

James 1: 2, 3, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.”

Genesis 50: 20, " But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good,...."


To God, Who is in control always and in all ways, be the glory!!!

God can bring glory to Himself through all kinds of circumstances. What others mean for our hurt, God can use for our good.

At present, my family is experiencing some very painful transitions. We will be moving in a few days back to my hometown. My husband has been out of work for some time now and is waiting on a job to come through there. In the meantime, we are seeking God’s will concerning two of our older children who are not walking with Him and who seem bent on bringing us down and destroying themselves. I received an e-mail from the e-mail prayer chain at our former church (not in my hometown nor here either) and read with interest and heartbreak lies that my daughter has told about us that are now being broadcast as truth. My son is just as destructive to us as she is (having spread lies about us around before). Fortunately, these two are not moving with us, desiring instead to live around more “normal” (i.e. worldly) people. The strange thing is that the rest of my family is loving towards us and seeks to serve God. My oldest son feels called to the ministry. My other sons and daughters (we have nine in all) are respectful and loving and supportive of our family. It’s only these two. I ask your prayers for them. In our former church are some people who believe that God doesn’t really care what you do or how you live as long as your heart is right. My children were introduced to worldliness and riches of the world through them. There is one woman in particular who stepped in when she shouldn't have and she is working with these two at present (her name was on the first e-mail. I then received a second e-mail by the one who moderates them expressing fear that I might be reading them). There are some people in the church there who really love God and are living for His glory (and I trust will see through these lies) but many are walking a man-made road to destruction (and fail to see it). My son and daughter both consider themselves to be Christians. God is in control and my daughter and son are in His hands. My heart breaks for them as they are so very, very blind.


Beginning Wednesday afternoon, I will be off-line for several days (perhaps up to two weeks) as we move and seek to get settled. I plead for your prayers for my family: as we move that we might be safe and have all things work out in accordance to God’s holy will as we pack and move 1 1/2 states away, for my husband that his health may improve and his job may come through, my two wayward ones that the Lord may do anything necessary to open their eyes and bring them to Himself, for my other children that God may draw them ever closer to Him and be glorified in their lives and that they might have forgiveness and love for their brother and sister, for my husband and I that we might be the man and woman of God that we so desire to be. I ask your prayers also for our former church that God may draw many people to Himself from among them.
