Rising into the Reality of the Word of God

Luke 1:38: “Then Mary said, ‘Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.’”

God sends His word to accomplish His will. The word of God is truth and cannot be modified. All things are possible with God but not with man. Hence, what God declares may not always seem possible to man. Nonetheless, God has given us faith by which we can believe His word and see and experience the fulfillment of His word in areas that are impossible to us.

If we are to experience the impossible we must believe the word of God as He declares it and allow His word to prevail in its truth and reality. There are those who try to modify the truth of the word of God to fit human reasoning. They read the plain word of God and then feel they must smartly reduce its reality with a “but” explanation more to the level of what man can accept. They are only cheating themselves of the blessed experience of seeing and entering into the awesome reality God promises to lift us into according to His word.

We must let the Holy Spirit establish us in the truth of the word of God and bring our mindset into obedience to what the word of God declares. In other words, rather than trying to reduce the truth of the word of God to the level of what our human minds can perceive is possible, we must let the Holy Spirit illumine our minds to understand the mystery of the word of God. We must seek God for faith to trust Him to cause us to see and enter into the supernatural reality of the truth of His word.

Mary prayed as she pondered the natural impossibility of her a virgin becoming conceived with child as the word of God had declared: Let it be done unto me according to your word, Lord! This should be our attitude and humble prayer of faith when we hear the voice of the word of God in His amazing promises. God wants to lift us up into the supernatural reality of His word which will always astonish human reasoning.
