2 Corinthians 12:20
For I fear that perhaps when I come I may find you not as I wish, and that you may find me not as you wish—that perhaps there may be quarreling, jealousy, anger, hostility, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder.
While there should be no quarreling or disorder in the church, it seems like it is constantly engaged in this.
As Christians we should show the love of God to the unsaved, as well as have brotherly love between us. I find however that there's often less live between Christians than there is between non-believers. It is truly sad that Christians are unable to debate topics of beliefs and Scripture often without it becoming a showdown.
I don't post much here anymore, but as quarreling should not take place among us, I probably won't be posting anymore and just stop in to read from time to time. It just breaks my heart that Christians can be the most judgemental and cruel to one another that they can't speak kindy and agree to small differences in Scripture.
Romans 14:6
Whoever regards one day as special does so to the Lord. Whoever eats meat does so to the Lord, for they give thanks to God; and whoever abstains does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God.
It seems Paul understood this, and it was going on then and continues now. We were told to preach the Gospel, but we're too involved in judging each other that we've made the Gospel of no effect to those outside the church who see this. It's why many want nothing to do with religion. If they see us unable to agree to disagree without making judgments about one another's relationship with God because of differences in beliefs on their knowledge of Scripture, they won't want to be part of that.
