Psalm 42: 1-2 "As the deer pants for streams of water ..."

I joined this site some time ago but its only since curtailing my time on another site that I've managed to get on here. So to anyone leaving a message or gift I'm so sorry I haven't been here.

Last year I did an online reading the bible for a year and it was wonderful - it brought me to a better understanding and a desire for more. As a Christian living in a Muslim country (not my own) there is not much choice when it comes to church and maybe its been a good thing as the online bible study has been such a gift to my faith.

Right now Psalms 42:1-2: "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. ² My soul thirsts for God, for the living God." is making a huge impression on my life. Its taught me to long for God instead of what the world longs for.  Even as a Christian I've found myself getting bogged down by what the world things I should be longing for but now I know its God I long for just as the thirsty deer longs for water and nothing the world offers me in the way of material things can ever satisfy me like Jesus can. Amen.
