PSALM 124 DEVOTIONAL-NOTHING TOO BIG FOR GOD

Does anyone besides myself remember that old show “The Friendly Giant?” Oh what am I talking about, of course you do, it was only a couple of years ago when I was 19! (ha-ha) For those of you who don’t it was about a very pleasant and soft spoken giant who looked out over the valley from his kingdom. He would reach down into a house and move the furniture around to make it nice and cozy around the fireplace, then he would place the people in nice safe places around the fire. The Friendly Giant loved the people of his kingdom. It’s just something that came to mind when I was reading this Psalm today. Being as how God made the Heaven and the earth, how simple it is for Him to protect us from anything that rises up against us. Creating the Universe by His hand is no small feat and there is NOTHING that is too big for God. He will always keep us safe in the veil of His protection and in the warmth of His love for us. God is a loving Giant of a Father but woe to those who attempt to harm the children of His Kingdom. Our souls truly are escaped as birds out of the snare of the fowler and we can now rest in God’s hands. So let us all sit together with the Holy Spirit Fire and lay down your troubles with the Lord for our help is in His Holy Name, Our God who made Heaven and earth. ALL GLORY TO GOD!! AMEN!

1If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;

2If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

3Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

4Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

5Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

6Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

7Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are

escaped.

8Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth
