PSALM 123 DEVOTIONAL-HEART OF CONTEMPT

Very recently, I was faced with a situation where right on the spot I had to deal with contempt and the lies of satan. I tried my best to smooth out the situation and get to the root of the problem and I must admit there was a bit of contempt starting to breed in my own heart. I will be quite honest here, personally I like to nip things in the bud before they get out of hand and yes, I can indeed be very quick to cut to the chase. Some folks don’t like that much and I need to be a little more sensitive maybe at times but I was under the impression I was dealing with someone who could manage that. I was wrong and the problem only grew from there with many words being twisted completely out of shape. My honesty only managed to breed more contempt and lies being thrown my way which in turn bred a little contempt into my own soul. I looked to our Lord for the contempt that seeded itself and He took it from me after spending time in prayer with Him. He took it from me and lightened that awful feeling that had welled up inside of me and He also took from me the guilt I was feeling about standing my ground against much deceit which is exactly what our Lord wants us to do no matter who or how much someone will hate us for it. I hold this person in prayer, they are much loved by God and by myself as well, and I pray they also lift their eyes to He that dwellest in the Heavens. Thankyou Father; for your forgiveness and for taking this burden out of my heart. ALL GLORY TO YOU FATHER GOD!! AMEN!

1Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.
2Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.
3Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.
4Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud
