When I despair, I look towards the sky and call out to God:
"Father, why have you forsaken me? Why do you make me suffer so? Why do people who don't believe you are better off than I am? If you love me so much, then why don't you make my life wonderful and full of happiness? Why don't you make me better than others? Have you not chosen me out of this world to serve you? So why am I not as good as others? Why is my life more miserable?"
In times like this, I often hear God calling back (or I think I hear him), saying:
"One who knows not pain knows not God."
I was deeply taken aback at this instantaneous reply. Then I realized, that if I don't suffer, I will never cry out for him. I shuddered at the thought that, if I didn't call out to Him, I might never know Him, and live a sinful life. The thought was beyond imagination...
I think pain is just a set-back, and that God is deliberately doing this to strengthen us and prepare us. I think also that He is doing this so we can get closer to Him.
Father, please be with me whereever I go, please cover me within your mighty hand. If possible, let Evil pass from me, so that I may live a holy life, pleasing You and spreading Your Words to people who don't know you... yet.
