One powerful prayer.
Because sometimes it is nice for someone to put words to the thoughts and needs you have in your life.
Many of the lines of this prayer are drawn right out of the pages of Scripture, noted at bottom. There is such power praying God’s words back to him!
Dear Heavenly Father,
I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things you have done.1 You are good, and your unfailing love continues forever, your faithfulness to all generations!2
Answer me when I call to you, O God who declares me innocent. Free me from my troubles. Have mercy on me and hear my prayer.3 You, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high.4
Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.5 Thank you, Lord, for that promise of rest.
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.6 Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin.7 Yes Lord, purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.8 Fill me up again with your Holy Spirit. You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.9 Thank you for that promised power, Lord; I surely need your power for living well.
Child, don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell Me what you need, and thank Me for all I have done. Then you will experience My peace, which exceeds anything you can understand. My peace will guard your heart and mind as you trust Me.10
Father, I ask you for wisdom today11, that I will have keen judgment and discretion
I ask that you would bless me12
O God, come and do what only You can do in our lives:
>For those who need to find you or come back to you, I pray…___, ___, (see below - this is how I write in my prayer journal each morning, a circle with names, in order to faithfully and persistently pray for those who need God to act!)
>For those who need healing--physical or emotional, I pray…___, ___,
>For our country, Lord, that people would turn to You, I pray…___, ___ ..
including our president, vice president and elected officials. O God, preserve our freedoms, I pray!
>For those who are losing jobs, I pray for your justice and mercy
>For those who are suffering religious persecution around the globe, I pray for your remedy, O Lord.
>Thank you, Lord, for the gift of prayer, for your desire to hear and answer my prayer because it is in your heart of goodness and generosity. Thank you, Lord, for life, for strength, for love, for the Word of God, for the promise of Heaven when I die, for Your great love, for ___, ___, ___, ___, ___....
O God, I pray that I would honor you today in what I think about and what I say.13
All these things I pray in the good and great and mighty name of Jesus,
Amen
So good, so peaceful, so God-honoring . . .
Thank You, Father. Amen.
