OH HOW THEY LOVE EACH OTHER

This past week was a difficult one for the Body of Christ here in my area of the world. A man who was a devoted Christian who was 49 was killed in a motorcycle accident avoiding a moose. I did not know him, but his son who is 15 is part of my Wednesday night prayer group. This young man got up in front of over 100s of people and shared his heart, and his faith and trust in the Lord along with his 22 year old sister who was the one who prayed him into the kingdom of God when she was 12.

This young man is part of a youth group yet from another church. So there we were 3 different Christian churches whom this young man and his family had brought together to celebrate and honor a man of God. I was shedding tears because of the love of Jesus that was in that place. It was a holy place. The man's testimony, his daughter, his son, and his brother was one that would have never been uttered if Jesus had not touched all of their lives.

We have all been changed and united more than ever as a community of Christ followers from different churches, but from the same Body of Christ. The trivial things that use to separate us are slowly but surely coming down. We are all striving to break dividing walls and young men and women like this 15 year old who has a heart for God are saying we will come together and make Jesus great and allow the world to say, “oh how they love one another.” When I go to other fellowships for special services, or groups, it feels like I am visiting my own brother's home. I feel right at home and enjoy the since of family in the Body of Christ. At the funeral I wept with those who were weeping because they were part of my family who I love.

My hope and prayer is that the dividing walls will continue to come down in the Church around the world. It is not about compromising who you are as a church family. In your own extended family we continue to maintain our family unit even when you join with your extended family.

I come from a huge family on my mothers side. One of my great uncles put a book together of the family tree all the way back to 200 years ago. On the cover is a picture of my great grandmother with her 25 grandchildren, with my mom as a toddler in the picture. It was taken at a family re-union that they always had years ago. It really feels great to be part of this extended family, I have a copy of the book and love to share it with others when they come to my home showing them my own family unit in the book.

I really love the fact that I am also part of a great family of God, and one day we will all get to see our name written in another book, the Book of Life.
