Need Help? Look Up! (Psalms 121)
Do you need help today? Do you feel like there's no where to turn? Do you think no one can help? Do you feel hopeless? Well, look up! You say why look up? Look up where?
Many when faced with a test or trial and perhaps even hopeless situations look everywhere! They look down by looking at the situation the problems they face. They consider & talk about the problems instead of looking up for the answers!
The 3 D's come over us and try to remain on us & in us. First we are disappointed because no one can help us. Maybe man sometimes Dr's give us a bad report. Do we accept there report as final or look to the only place we can always find the answer (help) and that's to look UP!
The next D the DEVIL tries to get us to accept is discouragement! We look down so much at the problems and look down and all around (earthly help) that we get so down & discouragement takes over our every thought and eventually our actions (what we do about it).
The last D is defeat! The devil makes us feel like we are defeated! He says just give up! He wants us to give in to despair and defeat & never points us to the only way out! He wants us to give up & never LOOK UP because He knows if we do we will defeat him! We will find our help!
Where is UP? What do we see looking up? I have looked up! I've looked up to others, tried other solutions & even tried praying when nothing else worked! That's the problem (last part of that statement). You prayed last when you tried everything your or others could do!
The Word of God says when we are in trouble or need (test, trials, sickness, lack,etc) we should look UP FIRST TO HIM! It is in Him we live and move & have our being. He is the supplier of all we need (Phil. 4:19).
We need to seek Him first! Matthew 6:33.
So, where are you finding you help today? Are you looking UP to Him, or looking down and around for your answer to prayer? Don't let satan lie to you and tell you there is no help for you situation! Take time right now to LOOK UP to Jesus!
Jesus is the answer to all you need today! Storms come to us all, but as He did for the disciples He will say to the winds to cease & say to the storms in our lives PEACE BE STILL. Be still today and know that He is God.
He is God in the calm and God in the storm. Remember He is in the boat with you. He like He did for His disciples when He was on earth will take you safely through the storm & to the other side safely every time!
Read the Psalm that my Mom SoulWinner1 loved to quote to me all the time. We used it in her Home Going Service last year. She always told me don't give up Look Up. She said when troubles came to me-"Honey don't worry. Your not looking to the hills (Jesus) for your help. He will answer you just need to look to the right place for help.
When I tried to figure things out myself or ask others she would remind me I was looking in the wrong direction and quote this Psalm below. I say to you today. Need help? Look in the right direction! LOOK UP He's waiting to help you every time you LOOK UP To Him! God bless you as with His perfect Shalom!
Psalm 121
1I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
2My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.
3He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
4Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.
6The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
7The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
8The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
