My Testimony

My whole life I have been raised in church. Mom didn't go to church, so she made my brother and sister and I ride the church bus every Sunday; I hated it. I hated driving for two hours just to go sit in a service for one whole hour. That one whole hour was the worst hour that I had to face once a week. I use to curse God and say, "If this is worship, then You are boring."

The church I had been attending was called "Gospel Light Baptist Church." They had a very nice church camp in Virgina, not too far from Kernersville, NC. I was going to go for free, so I went. I wasn't expecting to listen to preaching while I was there, but...you know what they say...don't underestimate God, He'll just prove you wrong. So, I had to endure the preaching while I was. But I loved it. I came home saying, "Mom, I want to be a preacher!" She cried and told everyone in the family.

I was 13 years old at the time. But...about year later, I got out of church. I was hanging with the wrong crowd and didn't really care about anything. I still prayed, I felt like if I didn't pray then I wouldn't go to heaven. Well...when I turned 17 years old, I met a friend. He asked me to go to church with him. So, I did, and I fell back in love with the Lord. I converted to Apostolic Pentecostal. I was baptized in Jesus name on April 27th, 2010. Received the Holy Ghost with the important evidence of speaking in tongues. What a night that was, to receive the Holy Ghost. I was filled with unspeakable joy. When I got home that night, I prayed again and spoke in tongues and danced in my front year. Neighbors thought I was drunken with alchol. But just like the scripture says "These men are not drunk as ye suppose..." Praise God!

When I was around the ages 14-17, I wanted to be many things in the career field. I wanted to be a musician, a writer, actor. But something in my mind said, "You need to preach! You need to preach!" those exact words. And I would always reply "No. I'm going to do what I want. I am going to do this. Leave me alone." But the voice of God never left my head.

So the night I received the Holy Ghost, I finally accepted my calling from the Lord. I am an aspiring preacher, and I plan to attend Indiana Bible College for one year. Then I will begin my ministry regarding the Lord; I will be a full-time evangelist traveling from church to church and preaching the Word of the Lord.

God is revealing Himself to me here lately in ways I never dreamt of. I am full of joy when it comes to God. This is my testimony(although I forgot to mention my childhood abuse). But, I praise God for everything.
