My Letter to the Editor

I recently sent this to my local newspaper and they ran it.

To the editor:

“When is my baby due?” That is the question asked by an expectant mother to her doctor.

“How do I get rid of this fetus?” That is the question asked by the woman to her abortionist.

Fetus? Baby? Which is it?

Apparently George Tiller thought that life growing inside a woman was just a fetus, not a baby. George Tiller performed over 60,000 abortions (including late-term abortions) in his 35-year career. Over 60,000 preborn babies lost their lives by the bloody hands of George Tiller. Many of these unborn babies were viable.

"We have some experience with late terminations... about 10,000 patients between 24 and 36 weeks… in the past 5 years" (From a speech given by Tiller at the National Abortion Federation Annual Meeting in 1995).

"24 to 36 weeks” is the same as “6 to 9 months.”

What if Tiller was killing newborn babies in his facility instead of preborn babies? Would there be so much empathy over his death?

We are horrified when newborn babies are found abandoned in trash dumpsters or public bathrooms. Pro-abortion attorney Gloria Allred wanted Michael Jackson investigated and held responsible after he dangled a child over a balcony railing in 2002. But we turn a blind eye when it comes to abortion. If the baby can’t be seen it isn’t a baby. WRONG! A baby is a baby whether it is in the womb or outside the womb.

Over 50,000,000 babies have been slaughtered by abortionists since the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision. As long as the media and pro-abortion organizations like Planned Parenthood continue to perpetuate the lie that preborn babies are somehow inferior and less human than newborn babies the slaughter of the innocent will continue.

The president of NARAL/NY, Kelli Conlin wrote “… it is cold-blooded, vicious actions like today’s assassination that make it hard for those of us in the pro-choice community to find common ground with those on the other side”

Cold-blooded, vicious action? What Tiller did was cold-blooded and vicious. Ms. Conlin, there will NEVER be common ground between those of you who believe in the killing of preborn children and those of us who condemn it.

Mainstream pro-life groups condemned the killing of Tiller; they believe that Tiller’s death will set the pro-life movement back 20 years.

I know one thing. George Tiller won’t be killing any more babies.
