I want to share a story with you. It is a true story, it happened at a J.C.Pennyjust a few days ago, in Rogers Ar. where my wife works. A supervisor was told a gentleman was on the floor, having difficultly breathing. Now he not only works with my wife, but is also a friend. He had no idea what to do. He calls 911 and tells then the signs, they tell him he must do CPR. Now David is one of the most gentle and humble people who could ever know. At first he hesitated, which he looks back and feels a little guilty. But, w/in a few seconds, and after watching the man take his last breathe. But the Grace of God, He used David to bring this man back. Paramedics came and continued to work on the man. Praise God at last word, he is doing good. The reason I share this story is, David who is very tall strong physical. He is so humble and kind to others. The entire episode freaked David out. No pride or look at me I saved a guy’s life. Just the a humble cat who feels thankful he was there.
Now a side story, as this was going on, a man or two walked over the man to take care of there own concerns, that in itself might mot be as bad but,it was what and how they said,
“hey buddy you better call a manager,” David said it was in the mindset that better not get involved, let another take the heat. David said, “I am the blank, blank manager, this is a people thing not a management thing. But, to step over him and not go around. or to offer any help that to me, was the coldest thing of all, And to speak even more of the humility of David, he felt guilty that for those few second he hesitated. And, when the 911 operator told David how to do CPR, even though He had never done anything like that,
he followed the instructions and saved this mans life. Not to be prideful at all but only Thankful he could be there. I wanted to share this story, of humility and not of pride.
