As I was growing up I had the notion that Priests, Pastors and religious bodies were special and were more Christlike, without faults. During His time on earth Christ carefully chose His Apostles after spending some time praying to His father over His choice. Each of His chosen apostles had their own faults; one betrayed Him and His favourite denied Him three times when He needed Him most. Over the years I have built up confidence in the religious, seeing the responsibilities and trials they are faced with in this chaotic world.
We need to pray for priests, pastors the custodians of the Word, so that they overcome the trials and tribulations facing the world today.
We look up to them to live exemplary lives so that we can emulate them, but this is not always the case. Let's not be judgemental and accept that we all make mistakes (although there is no excuse for our mistakes), and pray that the Lord will continue to give them the strength to overcome the trials that they face on their daily encounter with their flock.
Their spouses are most prone to temptations and need our prayers. If we can see our leaders as human beings, we won't be so hard on them but pray for them always without fail. They must also pray without ceasing.
They, like all of us should be cognisance of the words in the book of James 1:12 - 16 which says;
12 "God blesses people who patiently endure testing. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love Him. 13 And remember, no one who wants to do wrong should ever say, "God is tempting me."God is never tempted to do wrong and He neveer tempts anyone else either. 14 Temptation comes from the lure of our own evil desires. 15 These evil desires lead to evil actions, and evil actions lead to death. 16 So don't be misled, my dear brothers and sisters."
