All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

The love of God is beyond all comprehension. Gods Love for YOU began before you were born. Before you were conceived.

It doesn't matter if you were conceived out of rape, or an accident, or by Invetro, God loves you and knew you before He even created the world you live in.

The life and death of His Son, Jesus Christ, is directly linked to the love God has for You. This love, which began before time began does not end when you die.

In fact, in the book of Matthew, we have glimpse of the love that God has for someone that continued many years beyond the point of this persons death.

Beyond the promises we have throughout the bible of a glorious afterlife in the presence of God, here we find an actual account of this love between God and man beyond the grave.

When you read about the Transfiguration in Matthew, chapt 17... its easy to get swept up in how awesome and strange it must have been to see this 'spiritual' occurrence happening in the 'physical' presence of these three witnesses.

Matthew 17: 1. AND SIX days after this, Jesus took with Him Peter and James and John his brother, and led them up on a high mountain by themselves. 2. And His appearance underwent a change in their presence; and His face shone clear and bright like the sun, and His clothing became as white as light. 3. And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, who kept talking with Him.

Bringing these characters from the other side of this life down to this mountain top... and Jesus transforming right before their eyes must have been more than these three could comprehend.

The miracle is not that it happened so much as the fact that they were allowed to see it. What I mean is that, There is allot going on in 'eternity' right now that we don't see and feel here in this physical world. LIFE (The relationship,... the experience between God and YOU) doesn't end when you die and then start something different out there somewhere else. The spiritual part of you that is alive right now is eternal and continues on and so does the love relationship between you and your creator. We'll talk more about this later, but let's look at the amazing sneak preview into the after life of someone we know very well. I love you.

Is that really the Moses in Matthew that we know from Numbers? The Moses that angered God so much so in chapt 20 that God took back a promise He had made some 40 years earlier for Moses to go into the promised land.

Numbers 20: 9. So Moses took the rod from before the Lord, as He commanded him. 10. And Moses and Aaron assembled the congregation before the rock and Moses said to them, Hear now, you rebels; must we bring you water out of this rock? 11. And Moses lifted up his hand and with his rod he smote the rock twice. And the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their livestock. 12. And the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, Because you did not believe in (rely on, cling to) Me to sanctify Me in the eyes of the Israelites, you therefore shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

Yes, it's that same Moses alright, and God did what He said He would do and Moses died without ever setting foot in the promise Land. But, have you ever thought about how this event in Matthew reveals how much God loves Moses, still?

Where do you think Moses is standing in this scene here in Matthew? He's in the promise land, my friends... and He's talking to Jesus. God didn't change His mind... He did too Moses what He said He would for his disobedience.

God has to do what is right and it hurts sometimes but He is not through Loving you. This is what I was saying earlier about the continued relationship beyond this life.

You know it hurt Moses to die without going on into the land of milk and honey, and it hurt God to take that from Moses... But, here in this scene in Matthew we see Gods Love poured out even in the 'not so obvious' to us.

God did love Moses just as the bible says, even when He was angry with Moses. Even when He punished him and even after he died. And God is loving Moses right now!

It is the same way with Elijah, who is also in this scene, and it is the same with you and I my Friends. GOD IS LOVE.

I Love you.
