All About GOD - Growing Relationships with Jesus and Others

Dear Friends, I originally wrote this in response to another blog, quite some time ago. Recently, I felt like the Lord wanted me to go bring it here to shelve with the rest of His Love Series. There are so many blogs concerning Alternate Life Styles here that I had to even ask The Lord to help me find where this was. Well, we found it and I have been obedient to bring it "home" if-you-will. I had sent it as mail and later the recipient asked that it be posted to that blog, which I then agreed. It is still there today… surrounded by so much hate, and so, today, I am posting it as it relates to Gods' REAL love. All other expressions of anything thought to be love, apart from what God says it is, are alternatives and fall short of His perfect, most desirable, true love.

The struggle, for me, with this issue is very different. I live in "kind of a constant" intimidation that people might perceive me as being gay. Though I am strong, trained to fight, and willing to stop evil, chase down bad guys, protective, Fatherly, and confident in my position as a MAN... I admit, that I generally do have a sweet and soft nature. I speak of love at every opportunity and say I love you to everyone - all the time. I have not always been this way until I became a Christian. And so, people say things like... "you know, Preston, when I first met you I thought you were gay". This bothers me, because I teach people the Truth about God, the world, and life… and if people would think I am gay, then, my work for the Lord is diminished.

Now, it is NOT because I have disdain for anyone that I feel the way I do about this issue. There are a couple truths from Gods' Word that I just can't get past to even begin to consider the arguments. I believe sex is only to be within a marriage. There is no passage that suggests otherwise. And that marriage is between a man and a woman.

There is no passage that suggests otherwise. So, outside of those two simple truths, what more thought have I toward the matter? Because I am not married, I am not "free" to have sex. Now, you can change the law to fix one or both of these, but you cannot change The Word of God. Do I love men, yes, as much as I love women, but, not as much as I love God. I believe love for the same gender is certainly what God wants ALL of us to have, but the issue of sex is bound by Gods' Word.

The other thing I can't get past is the science that "must" be considered. Not the science of men, but in the design of the human body. When we study the human body, we quickly learn that some body parts we use in these sexual activities we are talking about, were intended for reproduction and some are intended for,... well let's just say not. I have to ask myself... what is it that draws our attention to the most unsanitary parts of each other, and my answer is not God. God would not want us to bypass so many places of healthy intimacy to get to those parts that spread disease and harm ourselves and one another. These forms of intimacy are rightfully called alternative lifestyles, because they do not line up with Gods' design of the human body... and they push the boundaries of Gods' Word. Not that He is ready to cook the person that's doing it, but because He has a better lifestyle and never meant for anyone to settle for alternatives of any kind.

I believe the deep desire to love and be loved is designed deep within each of us and its purpose is to be filled by the designer Himself. Any attempts to satisfy these cravings we are talking about with anything other than God-First, only end in sorrow and futility. After a man or woman has accepted God and allows Him to fulfill this burning desire to love and be loved, then and only then… He is free to fulfill our needs.

But your blog is not just about sexual orientation is it? In fact, the more important issue here is about hate... Isn't it?

1 John 4:20. If anyone says, I love God, and hates (detests, abominates) his brother [ in Christ], he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother, whom he has seen, cannot love God, Whom he has not seen.

There is a lot of Hate in this world and many people think that hate is winning right now. I'm telling you that it is not, my friend. While God has allowed it to run free, He has measured it's time here, long ago. It's on a short leash. It's time to do what it wants to do has always been measured precisely by God and that time is nearly up.

Revelation 22:3. There shall no longer exist there anything that is accursed (detestable, foul, offensive, impure, hateful, or horrible). But the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall worship Him [pay divine honors to Him and do Him holy service]

Now, listen to the incredible strength that Real Love has.

I Corinthians 13:4. Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily. 5. It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong]. 6. It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail. 7. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening]. 8. Love never fails [never fades out or becomes obsolete or comes to an end]. As for prophecy (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), it will be fulfilled and pass away; as for tongues, they will be destroyed and cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away [it will lose its value and be superseded by truth]. 9. For our knowledge is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect), and our prophecy (our teaching) is fragmentary (incomplete and imperfect). 10. But when the complete and perfect (total) comes, the incomplete and imperfect will vanish away (become antiquated, void, and superseded).

Finally, I must say that both of these issues separate us from time with God. I find people everywhere preoccupied with self pleasure and/or hate and the smoke from these two fires rises up as a stench to God, while Jesus... the whole time... is interceding and praying for us,... covering our sins from the eyes that never sleep.

I love you.
