Love And Science

The Lord will not let me move on from this study of Love. By now you can see, it really turns out to be a picture of God, Himself.

When I teach about Love sometimes and say that, "God 'Is' love", I believe most people think of a spiritual power out there that thinks a whole lot about us and wants us to return the favor to Him and to each other.

Well, He is like that, but when the bible says that God "Is" Love, that is what He actually Is.

I believe that 'one' reason He has shown us that Love is the most IMPORTANT thing, is because He wants us to be able to SEE Him. By making Love our most important focus, we can get a greater understanding of Love and the greater we understand Love, we begin to actually SEE who God is.

Our present picture that we have of Him, I promise you, is not even close to the real image of Him.

I Cor 13:12 For now we are looking in a mirror that gives only a dim (blurred) reflection [of reality as in a riddle or enigma], but then [when perfection comes] we shall see in reality and face to face! Now I know in part (imperfectly), but then I shall know and understand fully and clearly, even in the same manner as I have been fully and clearly known and understood [by God].

To get a better picture of Love, we need to "open the camera lens", so-to-speak, to the world around us.

Romans 1:20 For ever since the creation of the world His invisible nature and attributes, that is, His eternal power and divinity, have been made intelligible and clearly discernible in and through the things that have been made (His handiworks).

His invisible nature and attributes "have" been made intelligible and so we 'can' come to know and understand them. Now, how do you see something that is invisible? Well, science helps us see many things that only appeared invisible at first.

Even in the description of the invisible Holy Spirit, the bible says that, while you may not know where the wind is from, you can see the affect of it. And so, science to, has been helpful to reveal Gods attributes (LOVE) in what seemed invisible at one time or another.

When you get an infection in a wound, your body automatically begins to heat the blood that pumps through the infected area of the wound, killing the infection and restoring the wound to it's former state.

What we realize in truth is that The Creator that designed that kind of system is pure "Love". In other words, it was 'Love' that designed it's OBJECT OF LOVE (you and me) with built-in, self preserving systems. Even in understanding 'this' we are only looking at a dim (blurred) reflection of what PERFECT Love is.

Science has, and will discover yet, many more such awesome mechanisms within the Human design that can be linked to this "Love" that we are talking about.

Shock is another form of a Loving Creators' design. When the body or mind has been injured at more life- threatening levels, the body naturally goes into shock. This built-in condition shuts down some normal functioning areas of our system and slows down other functions as a self-preserving condition. Again, you must understand that it was "Love" that designed that kind of protective system.

Now, we don't have room on this web-site to continue with all the ways that Love (God) is reflected in creation, so lets move on to the next point regarding Love and Science.

If either of these two amazing designs that we just discussed fails to work, or breaks down, (and they have, on rare occasion) you could argue that Love must not be perfect. Some, with less knowledge of the truth, would even argue that the designer loved earlier generations of His creations more than others.

Arguments like these are forgetting or ignoring, not only Gods word, but other scientific and archaeological discoveries that reflect (match, prove, testify to) what Gods word says about His Love in the original design of man.

We KNOW that men use to live as long as 900 years, just as the bible says. Further, it is reasonable to believe, by putting many scriptures together, that originally, it was intended for man to live eternally "Here", in "This Body" (in it's original condition (before the 'fall of man)). NOTE: The amount of scientific discoveries suggesting the perfection of our "original" design are too many to discuss here.

So, the question is Not what is wrong with the design or the designer, but what has happened to it since.

We know what happened to the original design from the story in Genesis, scientific and archaeological evidences. Because of Man's Sin, his own body and the world around him began its descent downward and away from the original, or 'perfect' design.

The point in bringing up the fall of man and the negative impact that the "fall" (sin) had on things like Fever, Shock, and everything else, is to remind us how PERFECT Love must have been in the original design.

You see the Love that went into the design within us of things like Fever and Shock and we are in awe. But, you have to 'imagine' how much greater "perfect" it must have been, originally, in order to get a clearer 'Picture' of Gods Love for us.

So we have looked at only a couple of truths from science to help us understand the invisible designer Himself, (God (Love)) to understand the depth of His Love.

If we are sensitive and mindful of the Holy Spirit, He will reveal these things from nature that reveal Gods awesome Love,... the attributes of Himself.

1 Corinthians 2:10 Yet to us God has unveiled and revealed them by and through His Spirit, for the [Holy] Spirit searches diligently, exploring and examining everything, even sounding the profound and bottomless things of God [the divine counsels and things hidden and beyond man's scrutiny].
