Within the last few years:
Landed on the back of my head on solid marble floor
Emergency room-twice
Hospital
Barely functional for two years
Husband totally unsupportive
Sister murdered
Mother died
Pitiful health
Unable to work
Bills piling up
Father dying
My question: Is God mad at me or something?

Beautiful song beloved. Praying for you :) and indeed the righteous are persecuted, so i pray He will grant us according to the riches of His glory, to be strenghthened with might by His Spirit.
Thank you for all your prayers! I feel 100% better already!
And you know what (I hope this doesn't come off as egotistical) but Jesus did say that the Righteous would be persecuted.
I have on my desk the 'Jewish New Testament' ;
How blessed are those who are persecuted because they pursue righteousness!
for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.
Mattityahu 5:10
I think we all have to remember that!
Beloved Sharon..
I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through these difficult times.
I know Job asked the same question... When he asked it he received alot of wrong answers and misguided notions about how he has done things wrong from other people perspectives.
We know by reading the story that God was not mad at Job.. read it Beloved.. and pray about it. Let the Lord minister to you that He is yours and you are His, and nothing can separate you from His Love.
Blessings, Carla
First of all, my heart and prayers go out to you as you deal with so many tragic events and difficulties in your life. With your permission I will add you to our church prayer list including only a first name.
Regarding your question: No, God is not mad at you, because you love Him. Some things are a natural part of life on a fallen earth with fallen people and other times the enemy literally wars against us. At the same time God does use divine discipline, but that is because He loves us, therefore that discipline does not imply anger or condemnation on His part. His goal is to always realign us when He disciplines us.
Are you under discipline? Don't answer me, but ask yourself if there is anything that you have done or are doing that would warrant discipline from God. I don't believe that at least half of those things you listed would be caused by God to discipline you. The others are things He can do to get our attention if He needs to. But, even then, He is not mad at you.
When I go through a difficult situation I ask myself 4 questions in order, stopping when I get the answer.
1. Am I in this situation because of personal sin? (Yes or no) If yes, I address the sin. If no, I move on to question 2.
2) What is God trying to teach me through this situation? If I see it, I thank Him. If not, I move on to question 3.
3) What is God trying to teach others through my situation? Again, if I see it, I thank Him. If not, I move to question 4.
4) Can I simply trust God even though I don't understand why this is happening?
Praying for you,
LT
