In the eyes of a child

In the eyes of a child

I am but just a little one
All things I do not know
If you help we can have some fun
While you watch me grow

Try to be patient mom and dad
For I don't mean to make you mad
Remember I am learning yet
And I am far from wise
You'll understand more I bet
If you see it through your child's eyes

If you look hard you can surely see
What the world looks like to me
So take some time from your busy day
And walk a mile in mine
I can teach you how to laugh and play
With all the treasures that I find
The world is a big surprise

I don't know right from wrong
And I need you to be strong
So that you can guide me along my way
And protect me every day
For the world and the splendor of it all
Is really quite different when your three foot tall
Take a moment to realize
