HOW TO HANDLE THE PROPHECTIC IN OUR LIVES

I listened to a great message last night about the prophetic, that I want to share a little bit of what I gleaned from it with you.

We have all had things that God has placed in our hearts, or have had some prophetic word spoken into our lives.

Joseph and David are excellent examples: Joseph had God show him in dreams his destiny. David was anointed king by Samuel.

Then all what appeared to be all hell breaks loose on them both and it seemed like they were going father and farther from the destiny that God promised them.

Many of us have had the same experience throughout our lives. But the thing is, God is the one who allows these testings times to take place.

Psalm 105:17 says that He (God) sent a man before them, Joseph, who was sold as a slave.

UNTIL YOUR PROPHECIES COME TO PASS THEY WILL TEST YOU

We need the testing. Just think if there was a product that came out on the market that had never been tested, like a medication.

Joseph was suppose to be a great leader, but becomes a slave, accused, thrown in prison.
David who was supposed to be a king, but ends up living in a cave with a bunch of outcast.

It is not the Devil who is testing us, it is God. God will test the prophetic word spoken to us, and like the brother said in his message I heard;

Prophecy isn't about the details as much as it is about the destiny.

Also a truth that God has been revealing to the Body of Christ in the last year through the Fire Proof movie is that while we are waiting, or in the mean time we should be actively pursuing God. In other words I will be productive while I am waiting for the prophecy to come forth. We are to be productive where we are at. We got to get out of this mind set that we are useless until the prophecy comes forth in our live.

Joseph waited 13 years, David waited 18 years, Jesus waited 30 years. But while they waited, they were successful in more than one area of their lives. Let us make an impact while we are waiting, Joseph was successful as a slave and while in prison.

God gives us prophetic insight during times of peace to help us later on during those times of tribulation. I have had this happen over and over in my life. These prophetic insights help us to get through the hard time. many times he tells me something now that I will need later on.

Just remember also that prophecy is an outline and we fill in the details, also prophecy implies that we are already in line with the Word of God.

If God says that you will be going to write a book, then start writing, take a writing class.
If God tells you that your going to be a missionary, start going on short term mission trips, and start supporting missions.
If he tells you your going to lead thousand to the Lord, start bringing them one by one.
If God says you will be used to touch another country, then study about the country, pray for the country, and touch your country in the mean time.

There are some prophetic word we are to act on also as well as others we will wait on. It is all about being led by the Holy Spirit and then walking in the Spirit each and every day.
