Hello there. A very brief little bit about myself....
I'm a Christian in the Benedictine tradition. One of the appealing aspects of this tradition is that it comes from before any of the great schisms of the Church and is a tradition that has been embraced across denominational boundaries. It is neither fully Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, nor Protestant. The tradition emphasises the place of prayer in our walk with our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, but understands that is held in a balance with reading scripture, with our relationships to others in whatever communities we find ourselves, and with our everyday work which we dedicate to God.
I have an interest in hearing the views of Christians from whatever part of the Church they call "home". I have learned from Calvinists, Methodists, Baptists, and, Orthodox Christians, to name just a few. For me the Catholic Church, the Benedictine community, and my family faith life are all "home", though I am always happy to go and sit in other people's gardens and listen to what they have to say, and learn from their experiences and journeys with Jesus Christ.
I perhaps should also mention that my career is in science (biomedical and medical) and so I also have an interest in how science and faith can positively interact.
God bless you all +
