Grace is mentioned 170 times and is God's unmerited favor, it is by grace you are saved and not by works alone Eccl 1:14 I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. Grace and mercy stem from the same root of two heads of a coin. Rom 5:8-10 Mercy is God withholding judgment or evil that we deserve; Grace is Gods Blessings given to us of what we do not deserve; because of His mercy I do not receive Gods judgment upon me.
God grace can be define as His sufficiency of life for those in Christ, as in 2 Cor 12:9 Grace signifies the good-will of God towards us, and that is enough to enlighten us, sufficient to strengthen and comfort in all afflictions and distresses. His strength is made perfect in our weakness.
When we are weak in ourselves, then we are strong in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ; when we feel that we are weak in ourselves, then we go to Christ, receive strength from him, and enjoy the supplies of Divine strength and grace. 2 Cor 9: 8 Gods grace in us will supply all we need that we may abound in every good work as with the talents Matt 25: 24-30 each received the same reward of the master "well done good and faithful servant enter into thy rest" By this I mean that God is enough for us no matter what the situation we face.
As you see grace is the first of all Salvation Eph 2:8 speaks of saved through faith, and not of our self, it is a gift of God.
God in His Great Love and Mercy is rich that Grace in the soul is a new life. A regenerated sinner becomes a living soul; he lives a life of holiness, being born of God: he lives, being delivered from the guilt of sin, by pardoning and justifying grace. God teaches that we are justified by the grace of God. Rom 3:24, Titus 3:7 But not only are we saved by the grace of God--we also serve the Lord and live the Christian life by the grace of God. Paul’s letters always speak of a blessing of grace for the believers (along with peace). Just for an example, Rom 1:7 speaks of "Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ." Paul is speaking to believers who are already saved and on their way to heaven, but he also recognizes that they need grace for living the Christian life. They need God's strength and sufficiency.
No one can from Scripture abuse this doctrine, or accuse it of any tendency to evil. All who do so are without excuse.
