I just love reading the books of the old Testament,it seems to me that I can see how big God is. Thismorning as I awake I was thinking about how God carried and protected his people.My mind then went to “gaints”!  

Number’s 13:1  The Lord told Moses,to send out men to explore the land of Canaan,the land the Lord was giving to Israel.

(Numbers 13:27,28)   This was their report to Moses: “We entered the land you sent us to explore, and it is indeed a bountiful country—a land flowing with milk and honey. Here is the kind of fruit it produces. 28  But the people living there are powerful, and their towns are large and fortified. We even saw giants there, the descendants of Anak! (NLT)

It’s something to think about,when God says this is yours and you can have it because I said so,but immediately attacks begin. This is what happen with the explorer’s  Moses send out. How do we go from doubt to fear so fast,fear causes doubt,and then they feed each other.. Fear and Doubt are the giants we face,the promises of God are real and true.We know this,yet time after time we give in to the giants. How do we conquer these giants. Well after reading this chapter I learned that we cannot listen to bad reports,there will be encourager’s and nay sayers. God has given us what we need to make the right choice,the Holy Spirit,he is the great helper within us. But in order to receive from him we must listen,there are many times we hear from him but choose to do our own thing,it’s called disobedience. God has given us many great promises and he intends to fulfill them so that we to can conquer our giants.Wow this is good reading this morning,moving to chapter 14,and as we pay attention we can see ourselves in these very same places of fear and doubt. And just learning how God brought his people through every time,gives us great encouragement. The people begin to cry,much like we do when the doctor says you have just 3 months to live,or that’s it all that you own will be set outside by 5:00 pm if the full payment is not here,in my hand. Your husband just said it’s over,I don’t love you any more,after 15 years,sometimes it’s only 2 years and they walk out and leave,giants! The list could go on and on,only you know what giants are in your land. Joshua and Caleb were the two with a good report “Hallelujah”! God has not planned defeat for us.

(Numbers 14:9) 9 Do not rebel against the LORD, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They are only helpless prey to us! They have no protection, but the LORD is with us! Don’t be afraid of them!”

You talk about good encouragement,this is it,and please remember God has not changed and his promises do not have expiration dates,God’s word is good for us now,do not turn away from the Lord,don’t be afraid of your giants,these giants in our land are helpless prey,God’s protection and love is for us,Don’t be afraid of them. When we listen to God’s advice we win.
