Friends of God

John 15:15

'No longer do I call you servant does not know what his master is doing;but I have called you friends,for all things that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.'

We do not choose to be a friend of God.That is by invitation only.Only 2 people in the Old Testament were specifically described as 'friends of God.' Abraham walked with the Lord closely that God referred to him as His friend.

Isaiah 41:8

But as for you,O Israel,you are mine,my chosen ones;for you are Abraham's family,and he was my friend.

Moses spoke to God face to face as a man speaks with his friend.

Exodus 33:11

Inside the tent the Lord spoke to Moses face to face,as a man speaks to his friend......

Jesus called His disciples ... friends..an intimate friendship between them that He shared what was on His heart. We could also be a friend of God if we could seek God with all our heart.
