In having a say, I was trying to point to something in common that people of all faiths share - the earth! In the history of the earth, it's pretty clear that one name, and one person stands above all others. JESUS; CHRIST; IMMANUEL; YESHUA; THE LORD; SON OF GOD.
If we could all humble ourselves for a few minutes, and ask who is Jesus - and what was his message, we will probably save ourselves a lot of grief. Jesus only gave two commandments - or laws - which is about as simple as it gets.
The key to the formula for love, peace, and happiness is to humble ourselves a bit.
Good luck!
Hi WHYS Team, and thanks for letting me have my say,
Question to ask at start of show: Who is the most important person in the history of the earth, and how can we tell?
Issue to cover: What is the single point of common ground for all people to find love, peace, and happiness.
Interest to people all around the world: I suggest a problem solving approach - to start with the initial question, and then wait a bit for interest and feedback.
Currency of issue online: My reason for suggesting this issue is because of concern that people may not be talking about it online.
Why this issue above all others: I am putting forward a formula which may help people of all faiths and all nations to find peace on earth.
Who should be talking about it: People of all faiths from all nations may consider the common ground they have this Christmas.
The formula:
1. Consider today's date.
* 2. Why is the history of the earth defined by one name -
*
* 3. He must be important - what did he say?
*
* 4. "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.
*
* This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it, YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOUR AS YOURSELF."
*
* 5. Humble yourself for a few minutes - it's a good place to start.
*
* 6. If you have no faith in God - try to live by the second commandment - it is like the first one.
*
* 7. If you have faith in God - pray in spirit and truth that you may live by both commandments.
*
* 8. If having trouble with either commandment - humble yourself again for a few minutes.
Thank you for your time, and don't hesitate to contact if you require further info - or a bit more polish!
Robert
7And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. (Luke 2:7-16, King James Version)
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, and good will toward men.
